Homes in Olathe
What masonry looks like in Olathe
Olathe is mostly homes built since the 1980s, with stone or brick veneer fronts, plus an older core of brick and frame homes around the original downtown.
Newer subdivisions such as Cedar Creek and Prairie Highlands have rolling lots, stone veneer, and HOA standards. Retaining walls, stone column bases, and patios with seat walls are common requests.
Original Town near the courthouse has older brick and frame houses where the work is brick repair, porch steps, and chimney tuckpointing.
Many builder-grade block walls installed in the 2000s are now leaning because they had no drainage behind them. Those usually have to be taken down and rebuilt.

Weather
Freeze-thaw and Olathe masonry
Olathe's open lots get wind-driven rain and hard freezes. Stone veneer and walls hold up when water can drain out of them, so flashing, weeps, and drainage aggregate are part of every job.
